Hyderabad: As Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting an interim Union Budget this time in the wake of the upcoming General Elections, there will be no Economic Survey this time.
It’s a general practice that the central government tables Economic Survey report a day before the presentation of the Union Budget by the Finance Minister. As the Union Budget is being presented on February 1, 2024, the Economic Survey should have been presented today (January 31). But that’s not happening now. It will be presented before full Union Budget sometime in July.
The Economic Survey, to be prepared by Chief Economic Advisor (CEA), is a comprehensive annual report that analyses the performance of the Indian economy over the past year.
